Agaricus
Agaricus muscaria
Agaricus is derived from a toxic mushroom that contains hallucinogens. It has been used by mystics to produce visionary states. It acts as a sedative in small doses, but is poisonous, even fatal in high doses.
It is used in homeopathy in extremely low doses. People needing Agaricus may feel anxious, insecure and fearful. They may fear getting a serious disease and obsess about getting cancer or other serious disease. Agaricus is used for disease of the nervous system that involve twitching, trembling and erratic movements. Such conditions would include: MS, Parkinson’s disease, chorea, or epilepsy. Agaricus is also used for delirium tremens that alcoholics experience when detoxifying from alcohol.
Indications: Spasms and twitching, depression, anxiety (especially fear of developing a dreaded disease), chilblains (inflammation, swelling, burning or itching of the skin), complaints that are worse after sexual intercourse.
