Carbo Vegetablis
Carbo vegetablis is basically homeopathic charcoal. It is made from silver birch, beech or poplar trees. The remedy is designed for disintegration and imperfect oxidation. In homeopathy, like cures like, so the typical patient that would use this remedy is sluggish, fat and lazy and has a tendency for chronic complaints. Blood seems to stagnate in the capillaries, causing blueness, coldness, and ecchymosis. The body becomes blue, icy-cold. Think of a patient with a lifeless blood stream, in which bacteria can find a home. It is used for debilitated conditions--when the patient is near a state of physical or mental collapse. Patients who respond to this remedy may have flatulence
Indications: A cold or clammy body, weakness or burning pain in the extremities and a sallow complexion. Can be used for fatigue, weakness or severe exhaustion. Confusion, coldness, and breathing problems may also be indications. Carbo vegetablis may also be indicated for patients who have not fully from a severe illness. The patients often respond to warm, wet weather and to fresh air being fanned over the body. These patients often crave junk food, sweets, salt and coffee.
