Cytozyme ADTM is a neonatal adrenal complex with the whole gland carefully and cryogenically processed so as not to destroy its high level of viability with its high levels of nucleated protein and DNA. Anyone who is always tired, exhausted and irritable cannot but help notice the immediate difference it makes. Low cortisol levels, ligament laxity, light sensitivity, long term illness, colds, flu, virus, asthma (with low cortisol), hypotension, are all indications of adrenal insufficiency and needing Cytozyme ADTM . However, keep in mind that to just keep hitting at the adrenals only is often not the whole answer in that thyroid function, sugar handling (works well with Bio-Glycozyme ForteTM ), etc, are all a part to the picture in systems uniquely intertwined. None the less, practitioners consistently report of needing only 1/3 to 1/5 of Cytozyme ADTM compared to adult adrenal glandulars.

ADHS® (adrenal hyper secretion) is an adrenal support supplement that contains vitamins, minerals, and herbs and no glandular material. It was developed by Dr. Gary Lasneski as an adaptogenic product for the adrenals, especially for prolonged stress (which often leads into Syndrome X or hyperinsulinism, Type IV Hyperlipoproteinemia and adrenal hyperfunction). In order to normalize cortisol production by the adrenal cortex throughout the day, decreasing as the day progresses, ADHS® is recommended in the morning and at noon and not to be used too long term. The salivary cortisol test (888-611-1751) is usually the test of choice that best confirms that ADHS® helps significantly to lower cortisol and to increase DHEA. ADHS® seems to work very well with GlucoBalance® and Flax Seed Oil. Excess cortisol interferes with the conversion of T4 into the active T3 and if T4 is above and T3 below their middle ranges, use Meda-StimTM with ADHS®.

ADB5-PlusTM  is a broad spectrum adrenal support product with a much needed higher level of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), plus many other needed nutrients, hence the name.  The reason for developing ADB5-PlusTM was to provide a product that could be used at low dose when there is significant adrenal cortical hypofunction. As noted, directly supporting the adrenals with Cytozyme ADTM often provides excellent response due to the viability of the product; however, Cytozyme-ADTM often has to go as high as 10-12 tablets a day for patients with a significant systolic drop, low blood pressure, low AM cortisol, etc.  It became obvious that further supplementation with thiamine, other adrenal vitamin and mineral support, and moderate support for the pituitary, parotid glands, etc, are included.  ADB5-PlusTM, with this and the high amount of porcine adrenal and the phosphorylated cofactors, etc., in many cases it requires only 2-4 tablets a day (A.M. and lunch), rather than several products from different bottles. Note the calcium pantothenate in the product supplies 150 mg of pantothenic acid per dose.  With the great amount of B1, B2 and B6 phosphate, a comparison for ADB5-PlusTM would be Bio 3BG® + adrenal + pantothenic acid product all-in-one for hypo adrenal cortical patients that do not respond well to ADHS®Tyrosinase is also added to the product because of the assist it gives in ThyrostimTM . The adrenal glandular is porcine because it gives a much higher needed response overall. In light of daily high stress levels, this product is turning out to be superior to anything on the market.

With all of the other factors included in ADB5-PlusTM, then why so much pantothenic acid? Pantothenic acid is a widely distributed water-soluble vitamin of the B complex, the name derived from the Greek word “pantothen” meaning “everywhere” as pantothenic acid is present in all cells, whether plant or animal. It plays a pivotal role in energy production from fat, carbohydrate and protein.  The adrenals find it a lot easier to do their job when there is sufficient pantothenic acid in the system.  Pantothenic acid forms the core of coenzyme A, the enzyme helper that carries fatty acids throughout the metabolism, including fat synthesis and fat degradation. The acetic acid yielded binds with it to form acetyl coenzyme A. As acetyl coenzyme A, it now feeds the metabolic machinery (Krebs cycle) of the cells powerhouse, the mitochondria, where the universal currency of life, ATP, is made. Coenzyme A also helps synthesize certain important compounds like citric acid; most lipids, including cholesterol; steroid hormones (adrenals); and ketone bodies, fat derivatives made during starvation. Coenzyme A is required in the synthesis of the important neurotransmitter, acetylcholine, a chemical required for nerve transmission. Even freezing and canning lowers pantothenic acid levels; with heavy processing, it is really lost to the system. With today’s heavy demand on the adrenals, ADB5-PlusTM provides the balance that is needed.
