feverfewA double-blind, placebo-controlled study appearing in Cephalalgia (2005; 25(11): 1031-41) looked at the effect the herb feverfew had on migraine headaches. The subjects of the study were 170 migraine patients. Subjects were randomly assigned to receive either a placebo or a 6.25 mg dose of feverfew three times each day. Prior to the treatment phase, the average number of headaches per 28 day period was ascertained for both groups. After the treatment the number of headaches was determined again. The group receiving the feverfew had fewer headaches than the placebo group.
